These cave paintings are from the Chauvet cave in France and they date to approximately 30,000 years ago. Mixed in with the horses and other animals are the unmistakable images of the Pout-Pout Fish. These crude yet stunningly beautiful depictions indicate that Mr. Fish was of great spiritual significance to our distant ancestors. Early man would have almost certainly performed a glum and gloomy dance while chanting "blub, blub, blub" as these mesmerizing charcoal figures seemed to swim in the flickering firelight.
